Marta Mariolina Mollicone is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and at EURA, where she works on “Civil liability and regulation of advanced technologies”.
She graduated in Law with honors at LUISS University in Rome and obtained a Ph.D. in Civil law at UNIVPM. In her dissertation “Civil liability and artificial intelligence” she explored the taxonomy of artificial intelligence to investigate whether it deserved to be considered a legal entity and which paradigm of civil liability, alongside producer liability for defective products, was most suited to specific cases.
She has been Visiting Ph.D. Researcher at Max Plank Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich (2023). During and after her studies, Marta authored numerous academic articles published both in national and international journals. She has won calls for papers for some of them.
She has spoken as a speaker at various international conferences on civil law (Jovenes Civilistas) and robotics (ERF).
Her main research interests include the regulation of artificial intelligence and others advanced technologies, the intersection between artificial intelligence and sustainability, the use of artificial intelligence in enterprises and the use of technologies for mental and physical manipulation of humans.
Marta is also a lawyer and she has also served as a legal trainee at Supreme Court of Cassation where she followed the proceedings of the first civil division and the joint divisions.
