In the EURA Jean Monnet Center of Excellence on the Regulation of Robotics & AI Workshop series, experts from the most diverse fields are invited to present their most advanced research, encouraging participants to discuss topics on the forefront of the debate on the regulation of robotics and AI.
The second seminar will take place Friday 20th of May 2022, h. 2.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m., in Aula 8 (Scuola Sant’Anna, Piazza Martiri della Libertà 33) or online HERE.
The invited speakers are Dr. Ljupcho Grozdanovski, Post-doctoral researcher, University of Liege, Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology, and Jerome Decooman, PhD candidate in same University and faculty. They will present paper, entitled “Of Hypothesis and Facts: The Curious Origins of the EU’s Regulation of High-Risk AI”. The focus of the seminar is on the analysis of the AI Act, with specific regards to High-Risk AI. In particular, it will be investigated if it has any factual rooting at all or whether it is an instrument proposed solely for the sake of attaining policy objectives related to the digital single market.
After the presentation of the study by the invited speakers, the seminar includes a discussion with the participants on the debated topics.
